Revolutionary Rhythm

Revolutionary Rhythm is an American hip hop group, formed in 2009, from Los Angeles, California. The original two members of the group are Predominance (emcee) and Kid Abstrakt (emcee). DJ Million Faces would later join the group in 2011 during their tour with People Under The Stairs. The group started off beat boxing and freestyle rapping in high school and came to realize that they were influenced by the same style of hip hop music. They quickly started working on music together, making jazzy, conscious, 90s inspired hip hop.
The group continues to tour and record music both collaboratively and in solo projects - the most recent being their 2019 EP "From The Soul" which was released via Raw Rhythm Music Label. Revolutionary Rhythm group members Kid Abstrakt and Predominance met in middle school and later discovered that they both made music while attending Narbonne High School. Kid Abstrakt recalls a few mutual friends wanting them to battle during lunch time but the two were more impressed by their song writing abilities and beat selection. Both emcees were heavily inspired by groups like The Pharcyde, Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest and Wu Tang. They recorded an 18 track mixtape titled "Just Listen" and popular youtube single/video "1 Step Ahead" produced by Rhythmatical. The music video caught the attention of People Under The Stairs emcee/producer, Thes One. Excited by the good feedback, Revolutionary Rhythm started recording their next mixtape "SoulVibes" and were in search for a DJ. Through the power of the internet, the group met DJ Million Faces in the South Bay area of Los Angeles and were amazed by his scratching and mixing skills. Million Faces would provide the scratches on their mixtape and bring life to their live shows. Upon releasing the SoulVibes mixtape, People Under The Stairs invited the group to perform at the El Rey Theare in LA. The following year to perform in multiple cities throughout California and 3 cities in Colorado to promote their mixtape "The Art Gallery". After getting great reviews at every venue, the group opened up for acts like Dilated Peoples, Mos Def, Bizarre Ride, & Del Funkee The Homosapien. The group would later take a break from live shows to focus on their debut album. During the break, Predominance and Kid Abstrakt became fathers and DJ Million Faces focused on his newly founded coffee shop. Coming together after their new life experiences and taking time to reflect back on their youth, Revolutionary Rhythm released their first official project titled "From The Soul". Their first single "Los Angeles Haze" produced by Waahiid feautring a heavy J Dilla influenced sound. From The Soul is the groups first project on vinyl via their self created music label, Raw Rhythm Music. During the groups high school days, they would attend hip hop shows as fans including Project Blowed in Leimert Park. Growing up mainly listening to 90's and early 2000s hip hop music and focusing on keeping that sound alive with lyrics and stories about their own lives. Being young kids that did not fit in the cool crowd making the type of hip hop that was relevant at the time. Having parents that believed school is the only route to success and a career in the arts world is a long shot. Jumping from job to job trying to figure out what field you enjoy working in the most. Struggling day to day with your mental health and not wanting to get lost in the smoke and party life. Revolutionary Rhythm vented on beats and aimed to provide the light and good vibes for others. Believing that anything is possible if you truly work hard enough regardless of the resources you were provided. Recording on a free music program on their PC and a basic usb microphone to create music that is played around the world.
